Season 40 So far in ManagerLeague history, no team has managed to hold onto their Champions League title for more than a single season. Season 40 was no exception as Simple Minds managed to out-maneuver the defending champions to beat them 4-1. During the playoffs, simple Minds' games were pretty close, beating opponents by only a single goal in the Knockout and Quarter Finals, but from there, the team pulled it together and basically won by a higher and higher margin. Final game was a pretty one-sided affair, and Skjoldar were punished time and time again by the Simple Minds' offense. Maybe it was the off-side trap that backfired? Who knows. Certainly Simple Minds' keeper had a lot to do with it, as Skjoldar had more than enough good shots to stay in the game. Skjoldar did manage to get a consolation goal after 72 minutes, but by then it was already too late to change the outcome, and Grabben and his men could start celebrating. Congratulations, Simple Minds, managed by Grabben, our new Champions League Champion! |
